We went with Embrace pet Insurance. They have a wellness package that I purchased for annual vet costs and it allows a little extra money in claims so you essentially save a few bucks...that offset my insurance premium part. However, Embrace has lower annual limits than some. I personally structured mine as being $1,000 deductible, $5,000 annual max, and 80% payment. That means that I would need to incur $6250 in veterinary bills to max it out for the year. Others might want more flexibility but that comes at a higher cost monthly which I did not want. I also sent all my records in for an underwriting so I would know what prexisting conditions would be omitted from coverage and I had my vet do the "orthopedic report card" so I could waive the 6-month waiting period for orthopedics.

Good luck!
