My older Yorkie Max is a very strong willed little guy, but I can attest that positive reinforcement training is so much more productive in achieving the results you want. This does not exclude a firm "no".
Good potty habits are a sport in our house and we make everything fun. May sound silly, but my 2 boy Yorkies are awesome in the potty/no marking department.
