Hi and welcome to Yorkie Talk. Sorry he lost his front teeth. You absolutely did the right thing for his overall health. Dental disease can cause problems with the heart, liver, kidneys and more. Being loose, the teeth would have fallen out on their own anyway.
Many other people have gone through the same shocking tooth loss with their Yorkies. Genetics often plays a big role in determining Yorkie dental health, no matter how much effort you put into keeping their teeth healthy.
