I'm not sure why but my first yorkie, Charlie, hated cats. We could not have him anywhere near them. We could even say the word cat and he would go ballistic. We had to spell it to keep him from melting down. Barney, also a male yorkie, doesn't even notice them. Now, horses......he thinks he should rule those, but he has no problem with cats.
