If you know they are definitely Yorkies, why are you going through the trouble of a DNA test? Because... you clearly *don't* know if they're 100% Yorkie, right? Which, is really no big deal. I totally understand the "just wanting to know" factor. If there was anything reliable out there, I'd do it, simply because I'm curious to know for sure if Jackson is a Silky or a Yorkie.
The fact of the matter is though you could get a DNA test and it could come back that they're Border Collies. Or it very well may say they're purebred Yorkies. Who knows. That's the problem with the current DNA tests. I would say 'Wisdom' panels have dominated the market.
Here is a good article about them: Dog breed genetic tests put to the test - VIN |
snarky? oh hun, i wasn't be snarky. just simply stating what I was going to do
and who cares if it comes back wrong. I have the money, I wanna take a chance and I wanna do it. lol. it's worth a shot. it's all i got. and no matter how much i love my little babies, i deserve to know what breed my dog is. it's my choice.
and wisdom panel is the one i've heard about as well being pretty good. i'm leaning more towards that one.
