It all depends on the local laws, many jurisdictions call pets property and will only value a suit for replacement value. IMO the owners should hang their heads in shame for allowing this to happen, if my dog had to be at Vet for a few days I would be going to see her everyday. If it went longer I would be getting another Vet opinion or two. But again their other dog raised a fuss going to that Vet, listen to your dogs, they know!


Any of the dogs I have had have been 100% correct in their evaluations of people I met, if they liked them they were good peeps, if not they later showed to be dirt bags. Dogs can feel things we are too dense to recognize, pay attention.
