Bella was pretty much through with teething by six months, but she still had a few retained baby teeth that had to be extracted when she was spayed at seven months. Having retained baby teeth removed at the time of neutering is highly recommended to avoid having to put the dog under anesthesia a second time to have it done. Around seven months is perfect for having this done, but if you are not going to have your boy neutered, or if you are going to wait until he is older to have him neutered, be sure to take him in for a dental exam around that time, because retained baby teeth will cause dental problems down the road if they are allowed to remain after the adult teeth are all in.
