Is the red vein visible in the white part or the dark part of the eye? If in the white part, it could just be an irritation that should go away quickly. If it is a prominent vein that does not go away, I would have a specialist take a look at it.
Keep in mind that not all eye injuries are visible with regular exam. Max has had corneal scratches that only a dye test revealed. Corneal ulcers can be detected if you know what you are looking for. It's like the very thin outer layer of a grape is peeled off. Usually the eye will water, or the dog will hold the lid closed and be sensitive to bright light -- but not always. Watch for any signs of her wanting to paw at it or rub her face.
