My 7 year old yorkie recently had a tooth pulled and they found protein in her urine. They did a urinalysis and submitted her urine for a "urine, protein, and creatine ratio".

They said "Her kidneys are allowing some of the protein to be excreted into her urinary bladder which is indicative of early kidney dysfunction".

They want to start her on"benazepril"?

Does anyone have experience with this problem or with this drug? Any input is greatly appreciated, thank you.
