I am so sorry for your loss of sweet Ernie.

I too know what it takes caring for a senior yorkie. I basically went through what you and your wife did for about a year and a half - only dealing with kidney disease. Every night waking up the minute my Presley stirred to take him to potty. Blocking off everything to keep him from going somewhere he could injure himself. You just do what you need to do to take care of your baby. No regrets here. He let me know when it was time and I did what he needed me to do even though it broke my heart. You did what you needed to for Ernie...all out of love for him.

Presley has been gone 5 months. Not a day goes by where I don't miss him. It will take time I know. But it does get easier. For me...getting another yorkie helped me get through it.

I pray that you find comfort in your memories of Ernie.
