You could also cut the chest hair with thinning shears, it may help without losing too much length.

When you're combing pick up her front paw and really get all around and under it. I wasn't brushing that area well enough when I started.

Yeah, I think it's my fault because when I brought her home I didn't really think her legs need THAT much brushing so it ended up tangling up. Now when I detangle it the hair still isn't as smooth and soft as the top of her body.. I'm assuming because the tangling has damaged it and that's why it tangles so easy. I really don't want to shave it off though
