I've never heard of Hero Dog Food, and it's not listed on dogfoodadvisor.com, so I can't address whether or not it's a good food, but if he eats a bowl full, at least he's maintaining his calorie intake until you can get things under control. I agree with the others on constipation being a possibility. Be sure to tell your vet about all of his symptoms at your next appointment.
