It's just that she's elderly and passionately loves Yorkies so she has a litter or two every year as a hobby, not a profession. In her day and age, when a puppy stopped eating the mother's milk, it was time to find them new home. Colorado can get pretty rural. The lady who I bought Darla from has had a Yorkie since she was 17 years old. They helped her get through the deaths of her three sons. She honestly is a good hearted kind lady. I don't want her to get looked at badly so I've been on the fence about revealing Darla's age on the forum.
It is very common here. And it happens all the time. You have her now so it's just best to move forward. I never thought anything about getting a pup at 6 weeks until I was on here for a while. It's such a common practice here we don't know it's wrong. I also came here and asked for help from breeders. I learned a lot from them when I started looking for Lily. I am very thankful for the advice and knowledge they shared (thank you Yorkiemom1 and MyFairLacy!). You will love her and will do the best you can for her. And like me, you will continue to learn about these sweet pups!
