Yes, sometimes the older generation especially and the breeders who live in more rural areas tend to let them go at 6 weeks. I got mine at 7 weeks and her breeder was 76 years old. I didn't know they were so young until I'd made the 4 hour drive to get to her and after seeing them I couldn't just walk away. The lady isn't by any means a bad person. It's just that she's elderly and passionately loves Yorkies so she has a litter or two every year as a hobby, not a profession. In her day and age, when a puppy stopped eating the mother's milk, it was time to find them new home. Colorado can get pretty rural. The lady who I bought Darla from has had a Yorkie since she was 17 years old. They helped her get through the deaths of her three sons. She honestly is a good hearted kind lady. I don't want her to get looked at badly so I've been on the fence about revealing Darla's age on the forum.
