Oh I am in love! Yes you should go back to sewing
I know it wasn't leather, I was just joking about tanning hides

(well, except it is really hard work)
I bred and raised show stock angora goats and sheared and prepared (skirted, picked, washed, carded, combed, blended...) spun into yarn, dyed (acid dye, natural dyes, hand painting) knitted, felted, bla bla bla! And man, it just broke my heart sometimes for that deep and thorough dedication and detail I gave to my work to have people just buy some roving to spin (wool?? What kind if sheep was it?!) pre dyed and spin it up put their handmade tag on it and who would know the difference between that and long hours mucking out barns an trimming feet, hauling hay and coaxing newborn babies to their mothers teat?
Like you said- researching eras and hand stitching beads! It is truly a labour of love
