 Pet Corrector
Luckily my yorkie/maltese mix does not bark too much, but she would bark when I walked away from her into another room that was blocked off or when I had to put her in her crate to take a shower in the morning. I found a product called Pet Corrector from Petco. It is simply compressed air in a can that makes a hissing noise when sprayed. When I walked out of the room and she started barking I would turn around (can in hand b/c I knew she would bark), spray the air (not at her), and say "Lexi quiet". She jumped back from the sound and was immediately quiet. Only had to do this a couple times and now she no longer barks when I walk away or I can simply say quiet if she barks at something and she will stop. |
