 Progress report for Sophie
Hi, I wanted to update everyone. Sophie is doing much better. Her weight has dropped from 13lbs to 10lbs. Her waist has went from 21" to 17". The doctors are very impressed and said that we have bought her time. Dr Thompson is very careful to caution me that she still will not live more than a few years at best. Her protein levels and calcium are all within normal limits. She is still getting b-12 shots and is on 10 milligrams of Pred everyday. They found inflammation in her bowels. The website that was shared with me has been so helpful. I want to thank you all for your help. Years ago people would not have had the kind of support that I am getting here now. I cannot imagine how tough this would be to feel like you are all alone. I talked with a lady online who had a yorkie diagnosed with this at the age of 8 and he finally was euthanized at 16. That gives me so much hope for Sophie. If I just listened to the vets I would have given up. |
