Is it red or splotchy...if so, it may have progressed to a bacterial infection called pyoderma (staph intermedius)...this can only be treated w/ antibiotics from a vet. Maybe attach a good picture if you can? Otherwise, a trip to the vet may be in order. Is he chewing or licking his paws also, btw?
