 How much should my new puppy be eating?
We have decided to feed Royal Canin and he likes it (eats it with gusto, just a few bites at a time though) and has had plenty of firm poops and has tons of energy. As far as I can tell, he is acting like a very normal puppy....eats, plays, drinks water, sleeps, repeat. I am feeding him 3 times a day and no issues with hypoglycemia.
I understand that dog food companies are in the business of selling dog food so I have always "underfed" my dogs just slightly from the recommended amount on the bags. It just seems that Pluto is only eating maybe 1/2 of that? This is my first yorkie and never had a dog quite as small so it might just be my perception is off as far as how much he can truly eat. I don't want to try to force him, surely don't want to make him sick.
Am I looking for a reason to worry? LOL...I am shocked at how much I love the little guy only after having him since Saturday afternoon!!!
