 my first yorkie
I am proud mom to my first yorkie. I have had dogs my entire life ( golden retrievers and schnauzers) plus mixed breed rescues but Lucy, 19 weeks old, is my first yorkie. So far, we have experienced low blood sugar in the early weeks, reactions to three vaccines which resulted in very low food intake and vet stays and a camping trip to the beach! Lucy is doing well now, weighs about 5 lbs and is eating with gusto. I had high hopes for Lucy in therapy work but may have to rethink that as I am unsure about future vaccines. She is a delight for both my husband and myself and we love her dearly. Lucy loves every person, dog and cat she meets. I look forward to each new day just to watch Lucy embrace it with her love of life. What a wonderful lesson our dogs teach us!! |
