I do all my grooming bc I believe it's the only way to be 100% sure your babies are safe. However, I'd want to know a few things from a groomer:

-Have any dogs died in this salon's care, if so, under what circumstances?
-Do they use blow drying boxes? (if yes, are you comfortable w/ that???)
-What safety measures are in place?
-Experience w/ small dogs?
-Are groomers in areas that are unsupervised by other groomers?

I don't know what else...
