We would only leave her in the yard if we're not home if we won't be gone too long and the weather is nice. Today when we went out we had to lock her in the bathroom because it was rainy. I worry about leaving her to have the run of the whole house because there are electric cords and stuff that she could get into. |
Get her a crate. It might look cruel at first to leave her in there when you're away or sleeping, but be assured that dogs enjoy having a small comfy place to rest. Our labs and golden got big plastic bathtubs with towels and they spend most of their time sleeping in there when we are away. You can also get her crate inside of your room without worrying about her chewing something that she shouldn't while you're asleep.
Just make sure that the crate isn't too big for her if she's not potty trained.
