I did the warm compress this morning. I soaked the compress in warm water with Epsom salts in it to help with healing. It looks so much better today than it did yesterday. It's still draining blood and pus, but he is frisky and playful and rolled over for belly rubs and wanted kisses when I had him on the counter doing the compresses.
I have a call into the vet to see about having some pain medicine here for him in case he needs it.
Should the swelling in that area go down in a few days? She said they injected gel into the gland. I guess to force the rest of the infected pus and blood out?
