If your dog doesn't have a problem with the shampoo you're using, I wouldn't change. Using a conditioner afterwards helps to restore the oils and protection lost by shampooing. Your dog's skin pH is probably somewhere between 5.5 and 6.2, so the human products don't adversely effect his skin.
