Things are looking up for me
Went to the eye specialist today, been having a lot of vision troubles. Can't drive at night, read street/highway signs, etc. Well no wonder, I have cataracts in both eyes! YES, something that CAN be fixed!!!! I go in May 5th for the left eye and the right eye will be done a few weeks later. Surgery takes 15 minutes or less and I can drive the next day
I'm relieved. No diabetic retinopathy either, so that's good!
I also finally got a car and a sweet deal on it too! KBB is $6,900, we bought for $4,500. I can actually ride in style, too, it's an Audi A6. 2001 but it's in mint condition and had only 110,700 miles on it. The original owner really took great care of it. There are a couple of small chips out of the hood, like a rock hit it on the highway and a small scratch on the driver's side back door, but I don't really care, it runs like a top! Can't wait to get her out on the highway and floor it for a minute just to see what she can do

I've also got my diabetes under better control now, they finally put me on fast-acting insulin for meals and it's 1000% better, near normal numbers. I feel so much better that I'm actually going out and exercising since I have some energy again. I've only lost 3 lbs this month, but I'll take it! I know if I can lose this extra 25 lbs that I will have better control (and my jeans will fit again!).
I am so thankful to finally have health insurance. A lot of people look down on the Affordable Care Act, but it has helped me get good insurance without having to pay $1500 a month. As a diabetic, the only insurance that would take me wanted that much just for ME!
Anyway, I hope that everyone is doing well and sorry I haven't been around much, been really busy lately!
