Zoey had her first attack of P after eating Stella & Chewy's. Then two years later she had a second attack after giving her treats that were 24% fat (I never checked the fat content because they were treats). She is on RC low fat for life. My vet said she can not have anything with more than 5% fat. She is hungry every few hours on RC and I have to feed her three times per day. We saw the vet this last week and I told him how hungry she was and he said to give her some rice and chicken at night to fill her tummy till morning. Even feeding her more she has not gained weight. We need to keep her at 6lbs as she had femeral head surgery and should not get heavy.
I told the vet I was really sad that I couldn't feed her raw and he understood that and was very nice about it even though he does not agree with raw. My Jackson eats raw but he has a rock gut. Jackson is a good sized Maltese.
