The hay would be very hard to resist for most dogs including my own. Britster, could you do a make shift search area with hay, combine a bit of nose work with barn hunting to teach Jackson not to mark? When we did nose work 101, the first thing we did was teach them not to mark in the search area. Dogs were taken to a designated potty area where they were given the chance to potty before they enter the search area. After the search they were taken to the potty area again. So it's pee, search, then pee again.
