Think all dogs do this at some point in time. I had labs growing up and I use to take them running with me. I would run about 1 1/2 miles daily on our neighbors farms. I would run with them on a leash and there were times when we were running they would just sit on the ground and not move. Now what do you do when you have 60-80 lb Lab that doesn't want to run anymore? Can't pick them up. So I would unleash them and tell them to go home. They would cut across the fields and take a direct path home.

Our little Maggie will do this also, but it is usually when she is just pooped and wants to fall asleep in our arms. Many times we would be out walking and she will just flop on the ground, so I scoop her up and she is sleeping within 5 minutes. (they are so adorable)
