Oh what a shame, in my part of the country it is never safe to plant until the end of May, we do have apple blossoms about to bloom though.
Maybe you can cover the ones you planted with baskets, brown paper bags or plastic. I had a friend who planted early here and she did what I mentioned and it helped quite a bit....bet you knew that.
