Heartguard has been around for a long time. Not giving your dog heart worm prevention is a lot safer then giving them the heart warm prevention. Heart worms will make your dog very sick and normally leave them with lasting problems if they live through the treatment which is seriously a poison. You might want to look at how they have to treat heart worms before thinking the prevention is so toxic and I suggest talking to someone who had a dog go through it or was very close to some one who had a dog go through it. Heart worms is not something to play with.
