One of my girls had a engorged tick between her eyes I (because she had to stick her face in to everything in the yard while on the hunt) there was no red ring around where this tick was attached,when I pulled it out my girl had a bump for weeks, that's how deep it was embedded. But I know what ticks look like, had I not been sure, I would have been at the vet.
