Yup, it's true...most especially if the faux fur is from China. Be VERY careful of faux fur from China, where they often use cat, dog, and rabbit fur but call it 'faux'. Usually, if you're quite familiar w/ the texture of faux, you'll be able to tell immediately if the faux is 'real'. Real fur (cat, rabbit, dog) has a very different feel to it than the rougher faux.
Fur in China is obtained in one of the most graphic, cruel, diabolical methods ever...I'm not even going to describe it bc of how horrific it is. So please, DO be careful.
