To the OP: you could also try baby diapers. How-ever with the wee lassies usually there is not a lot of blood. But it does depend on the female, and how well she continues to groom herself. Baby diapers of course are found everywhere.

And truth be told even the large lassies....

You have made up your mind (for now at least) about early spaying or lets call it what it is a full ovarian hystercotomy(sp). There are threads on here that will link you to research on the subject, and you can read up on the health risks/benefits of the procedures. You could also look at tubal ligation an alternative that keeps the hormones intact.
