I made this mistake with Buster and gave him too much and he started wanting that instead of his food. It is like asking a child if they want to eat a nutritious dinner of if they want a candy bar. Dogs and many people prefer the taste of junk food over healthy food. I know I have a raging sweet tooth that I have to control. Always feed protein after giving them nutrical or Karo. The get the sugar in their system and get that burst of energy expend it and then without protein which is a slow burning energy source you are right back to being hypoglycemic. I have to monitor my own sugar intake or I get the shakes and become light headed but still I crave the sugar.
