Repeatedly feeding Karo syrup to your puppy can set up a cycle of rebound hypoglycemia. If the puppy isn't eating, you may want to try a syringe filled with a very loose wet food ( I liked Wellness canned puppy) to help get a small amount in to him. I believe Royal Canin also makes a mousse consistency wet food. If you don't have a syringe, put a small amount on the tip of your finger and place it on the roof of his mouth. The act of him trying to get it off the roof will cause him to swallow some.
Others have already told you how quickly these little ones can go down hill. If you don't feel your vet is being responsive enough, than you need to be more proactive and find a vet who will help you. Now. Not later because that may be too late.
