Your post got me to thinking about when I brought home my first yorkie. He was only 1-1/2 lbs and he didn't want to eat. If I just placed it on the floor he would look at it and walk away. I literally had to sit on the floor with him and hand feed him. It took longer to get something into him but it worked. Eventually he started eating on his own. But you really need to get him to eat, syrups are usually for emergencies. Good luck....
