IMO the quickest way to cut back is no treats and absolutely nothing from the table. All 3 of mine are in the 11-13 lb range too. Pebbles and Doodlebug each get 1/4 food twice a day. Bogey is my problem with his tricky potty behavior. When he goes out to potty he likes to sit about 25 feet from the back door until I shake the treat jar and in he runs like a rocket ship! So between the 1/4 cup food and all his potty tricks he gained weight and his knee started acting up again. So I cut back his food and gave my husband and kids another talk about too many treats. Now he is getting 18 pieces of kibble and still gets a few potty snacks. This seems to be working really well for him. My point is when you are feeding 1/2 cup of food total each day that should really include any treats you feed too. Royal Canine is a really good food and what I feed too.
