I would like to add. If you think that is too long for your pup to be in the crate, what about a playpen? In the beginning I put Gunner in the playpen with is bed, water and pee pads. It works well till they are old enough to put in the crate for a length of time. I don't give Gunner any freedom when I am not home, gives them too much opportunity to get into trouble.
