Hi everyone! We picked up our 10 week old little boy on Thursday from Courtney (cbrownfish) Tank is adorable and the only time I can find to do pictures etc. is when I'm at work. Thus the delay in the picts. Tank and Buckeye are quite the pair and keep me on my toes.
We picked him up on Thursday and took Buckeye with us. When we first got home they started playing...then it turned a little rougher. My 8 week old Buckeye decided that having another 10 week old puppy in the house might not be all it's cracked up to be...so the dominancy fighting started. To be honest it scared me a little (even thought you could tell they weren't going to hurt eachother) and I was so upset. I had the day off friday and they went back and forth from playing to fighting. I was learning what triggered the change so I could stop it.
The rest of the weekend they changed alot. Now they play like crazy and they are adorable together. They still fight some, but it is more of a brotherly bickering over toys and mom's lap
I call Tank my little Ewok (sp?) because he reminds me of the ewoks on Star Wars My hubby isn't a star wars fan so he has no clue what I'm talking about.
Tank is going to be more of a challenge to train, and I think it's just because he came to us in the "toddler stage". But he's catching on quick. I'm thinking about making some bells for my door for the potty stuff. Buckeye is really good about going to the door but if I'm in the kitchen and he takes off I can't figure out that he's sitting at the door waiting to go out. Hopefully Tank will catch on to that faster if I put the bells on. My husband and I are both first born in our families and since Tank came home I told him that I now understand why the second seems to get away with everything. Because Buckeye get's the "you know better" lecture when he does something wrong where as Tank gets away with more because he hasn't learned yet. The funny thing is that I can remember getting mad at my mom when things like that happened with my younger sister.
Their favorite thing in the world is to chase eachother around the yard. They beg to go outside just to play. I've decided that with all of the big dogs in our neighborhood (an no fence for us) that "Come" is the most important command. I'm going to start working on that. Tank is very adventurous (and Buckeye just follows along) so we're going to start leash training outside too.
Anyway, I've rambled enough. I hope you enjoy the pictures of my babies. They are so sweet!
Thanks for everything Courtney. He's doing just great!!
