I use detangling products right before a bath, but I have found the best way to avoid tangles on my boys is to keep their coats as clean as possible. That means using less hair product too.

We use brushes, but I finish with a small comb to make sure there aren't any little hidden tangles. Small tangles lead to larger ones.
