born and bred on Long Island but have been gone since my 20's my friends still tease me about my New Yawk accent, but truly most of it is gone. Plus I say things like purse instead of pocketbook, pop instead of soda, porch instead of stoop, trash instead of garbage, which my family thinks is funny, especially the pop one. However once in a while I will say something where I can hear the New Yawk come out and that cracks me up. Oh and after a few glasses of wine the New York starts coming out |
