LOL! Sometimes my dad will slip into his Chicago accent -- which varies of course around Chicago. He will pronounce "town" as "TAO-n." He is originally from Des Moines.
When we first moved to Chicago, we couldn't understand anyone. They talked so fast compared to what we were used to, and it is sort of nasally, or swallowed. We picked it up in no time.
