I've had acid reflux for the majority of my life. My triggers vary but some are:
Eating too much, going too long without eating, too much fat/grease, acidic foods/drinks, spicy food, sometimes dairy (yogurt and cheese are usually ok), and stress

Yogurt is weird, it usually doesn't cause the issues other dairy products do.

Sammy Mommy mentioned ice water, be careful because that can be a trigger for some people.

Poor Joel, having acid come into your throat/mouth is horrible. It takes forever for the taste and pain to stop.
