I went to search for the thread but see you found the sick and injured section and connected with Linda, I saw your question, my dog did have the bloated stomach that's the only way I knew he had a problem. I did not even notice it until I was giving him a bath at around 7;30 the night before we were leaving on a two week trip to Italy. I rushed him to the ER vet and they drained about 6-8 oz of fluid from his tummy, the vet had a hunch what the problem was and started him on the prednisone. Duffy did fine with diet management and the low does of pred. I really think with the right balance of meds and diet your pup has a very good chance of living a good life, you never would have known mine had a problem. Good luck I am sure hearing this is very upsetting.
