I had my male for 2 years and then got my female. My male is more cuddly, while my female is more independent. My male cuddles all the time, and the female cuddles on her terms. My male is very much a mommy's boy, and my female prefers my husband. They are both very into us and into each other. I would definitely say my boy needs me just as much as he did before we got Khloe. I hope that helps.
I know this is not the case with every pair. Some dogs end up hating each other, others love each other. It all depends on the dogs. I am very happy with having two and wouldn't go back knowing how happy they make each other.
