I would tell him just how you feel. Be very honest with him. If your not happy with him now, I'm afraid you never will be. If it's over, then it's over. If you want to see him again, tell him your call, may be he can meet you for a drink. But for now, you want & need dates. Because after all, it's you who needs to be happy.
