Hi, for what it's worth, I don't think it's unusual at all. My Bella always has to go in the middle of the night--it's almost expected, so we plan for it. When she whines in the the night, we take her out of her sleep crate and take her to her potty pad, and she goes. Then she's usually good for the rest of the night. You should either have a place for her to go in the house at night, or take her outside for a walk in the night, whatever you're more comfortable with. You could also try taking her out for a walk just before bedtime to see if that helps.
