I wouldn't take insult to it. A lot of times people are simply trying to start up conversation. *shrugs* Not everyone is knowledgable about breeds. My mom wouldn't know the difference between a Labrador and a Golden in most cases. My stepmom thinks Min Pins are Mini Dobermans. She loves dogs, she is just not knowledgeable about breeds. Granted, a dog trainer should maybe be moreso, but the fact that she asked doesn't seem like a big deal to me. People often ask me "Is THAT a yorkie?!" when seeing my 18lb, long bodied, athletic, full-tailed creature. LOL. It does not offend me in the least and I often say with a question mark myself. He MAY be a Silky... I don't honestly know. |
