The only thing I can think of is to have him go potty outdoors only. It would eliminate the problem of poop in the house at all. But I know you've got the other pups too, so have a feeling this isn't an option. But really, it sounds like if you've tried all other methods, this would be your best bet. Granted, he could still pick up poop while in the yard and bring it inside but I'd assume you'd notice that before he got a chance to bring it in.
As far as training goes, you could treat it like a puppy who chews or picks up things etc. You're going to have to keep an eye on him practically 24/7 though in the beginning. Any time you see him about to go pick up poop, re-direct and when he listens to you, click/treat for doing the right thing. Or, as gross as this sounds, keep his poop on a little pad and do a training session near it. I would imagine the 'temptation' to grab it would be there for him, and teaching him to avoid it could be practiced. |
