Greenies have been banned in our house, as well.

I too think they should be recalled, but all they say is that the owners need to watch their dogs with the greenies, as with any other treat, etc. So, I think that is where they are being saved right now.....because "it is up to the owners to make sure their pets are eating and chewing their product the right way".

I have asked my vets about Greenies and the dangers associated with them and they still say that Greenies are safe.....but, I am not taking that chance.

I remember someone posted awhile back about Greenies and said that if you cut a small piece off (about the size of one of the greenies bits or what your pet might normally chew off) and soak it in water, it expands. We did this and our piece didn't just double in size it quadrupled in size. And it was a rubbery stretchy consistency....YUCK!
